The Louvre

Now here was an interesting place. Despite having only a passing interest in art (it's my other half that is really interested) I really enjoyed the day we spent here. This is the arch that faces the Louvre and stands across the road from the main building.

This is only a fraction of the main building. It's one arm of a building which is a huge U shape. There are four levels and we walked miles and miles and miles that day.

Now this was absolutely the most amazing part of the whole day. I was most impressed that the art hung is not only available for the public to look at, but that you were allowed to set up your easel and copy the great painters. I thought this guy was great.

Venus De Milo and the Mona Lisa. I never thought I'd see the day that I would actually see famous works of art like these. The Mona Lisa picture is the only picture on my whole site that was not taken by me. I saw it, but couldn't get a clear shot of it because of the crowds.

These are some other statues that appealed to me. I don't know why, as I said I'm not into art, they just did. Though I've just noticed that most involve animals so that would be why.
