Built in the early 17th Century by Master William Forbes. His elder brother inherited the family castle, so he became a buisnessman, did well, and built his own.	This is the remains of a fortified courtyard that surrounded the castle on three sides. It housed all the domestic workshops, bakery, laundry, blacksmith etc.
