Delgatie Castle dates from 1050.	It has been added to and altered over the centuries.
It was most recently owned by the Captain and Mrs Hay who were told by architects it was not worth saving.	But they, together with a joiner they employed, proved them wrong.
	Captain Hay died in 1997 but before he died he set up a trust to run the Estate and opened it to the public. Today it is maintained by some hard working volunteers.
