Edinburgh Castle

Edinburgh Castle is situated in this nations capitol. This majestic structure sits atop a volcanic plug right in the centre of the city. The Scottish Crown Jewels are housed in the Castle.

A sentry on guard at the main drawbridge which is a representative of various Highland or Lowland Scottish Infantry Regiments. The Edinbuirgh Regiment is the King's Own Scottish Borderers who were raised in 1689 to defend Edinburgh from the Jacobite Highlanders. The people were encouraged to join by being offered 1 shilling.

By far the biggest is the famed Mons Meg, an extremely large cannon which fires cannon balls the size of small car tyres up to 2 miles. It was never actually used in battle.
