Inverness Castle is on the banks of the River Ness.
There's been a castle here for a about thousand years. However it was blown up during the Jacobite uprising about 1746.
The castle of today was rebuilt in 1835 and is currently used as the Inverness Sherrif's Court.
The statue at the front is of Flora MacDonald who helped Bonnie Prince Charlie escape to the Isle of Skye.
The original castle's well was rediscovered in 1909 and restrored.
In winter....
...and in summer.
