So I saw the cardiologist last Friday. He took the time to listen to everything that has been going on with me, which was a pleasant surprise.
After reviewing my chart, he found nothing significantly wrong with my heart, and by just uttering those words, a tremendous relief washed over me. I do have a congenital heart defect, but at this time it isn’t anything to be worried about.
So what exactly happened to me?
- Sleep Deprivation since November has been wearing down my body’s immune system.
- The continual back pain was causing stress and anxiety to build up, like a dam with too much water pressure, it’s going to reach a breaking point.
- Increased anxiety about the possibility of me not being well enough to go to Africa.
So I had all of this going on. All I needed was a trigger to set off this time bomb. Enter Ophidiophobia.
I’ve always hated snakes. There are definitely childhood reasons for this. But apparently, when I actually came across a real one a couple of weeks ago, it really did a number on me. It is funny how the body reacts.
Anyway, that is the doctor’s theory. Knowing the possible cause to everything that happened is a huge relief. I feel much, much better. I type this after sleeping soundly for the first time in months.
