It was also the summer that Jerry Garcia died. I had just broken up (again) with my girlfriend, and was looking to escape the pain in a sea of colorful tie dye and potent smoke. I had little appreciation for the music, that came later in life. As the years passed, I grew to love the music of the Grateful Dead, and was thrilled to hear that three former members of the band, along with John Mayer, formed the group [Dead and Company](https://deadandcompany.com/).And so, in true deadhead fashion, I get a plane ticket from Arizona to Oregon, and road trip my way down to the college town of Eugene for the show. Incredible isn’t a strong enough word to describe the night.
