So many times<\/strong> have I almost hit the delete button on a folder labeled “future projects” on my computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

The images stored inside were too painful to look at.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are so many<\/strong> future projects in Kenya, and throughout the world at large, if one is so inclined to make a difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

On our last day in the slums, we go around to various schools looking for people to help on our next expeditions. Little did I know at the time that no future expeditions were in my future. This also led to tremendous internal guilt, as I had given these people hope….only to let them down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I put this out there for the world to see<\/strong>….maybe to inspire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve accepted that what I did was enough. I can now just love the work that we did, the long lasting friendships and connections I made, even if we don’t speak anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The town of Carlisle<\/strong>, England, the 12th century cathedral that opened my heart to help me face my turmoil, guilt and eventual acceptance will forever hold a special place in my heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My journey along Hadrian’s Wall<\/a> continues in the morning. I have two days left, but this walk has become so much more than just a physical accomplishment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has become a journey of healing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
