Winter’s grasp<\/strong> is loosening it’s hold on the mountains above Flagstaff. I head to the Kachina trailhead to see how far I can get on this Spring day, with the goal being to traverse the San Francisco Peaks and make it to Mount Humphrey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bears are emerging from hibernation<\/strong>, new elk calves stay close to their mother’s in the open fields of these sacred mountains. Fallen trees that have succumbed to the perils of the harsh winter lay across the trail as I go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alone I am once again. Just the way I like it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I find the trail<\/strong> just disappears after a few miles, preventing me from my goal. No matter though. I head back down and over the the East side of Flagstaff to find my Airstream<\/a> for the night. The wind has really picked up and is howling like a banshee, rocking the Airstream back and forth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am lulled into a peaceful sleep<\/strong> in the simple comfort of this RV, out in the remote wilderness of Northern Arizona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
