My exploration of the Cape Perpetua<\/a>\u00a0area along Central Oregon’s coastline initially had only one purpose.<\/p>\n

Find and see Thor’s Well.<\/i><\/p>\n

My goal though of doing just that led to something far greater and unexpected, the Captain Cook trail.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n

My first stop was to see the Devil’s churn, a small inlet from the Pacific, where mighty sneaker waves would rush in from the ocean and crash against the rocks in spectacular fashion.<\/p>\n

The closer I got, the slippery rocks became more treacherous. One misstep could easily lead to an untimely death if you fell into the crevasse.<\/p>\n

I slowly edged my way to a scenic viewpoint and waited for the incoming waves to put on a show.<\/p>\n

The sneaker waves lived up to their name, as a deafening crash reverberated up the steep canyon walls, followed by ocean spray drenching me.<\/p>\n

It was exhilarating, and I couldn’t get enough!<\/p>\n
