The rains seems to have left<\/strong>, leaving a beautiful day ahead for me to explore. I decide to head on over to Tjornuvik, the little village I was attempting to hike to on my second day here. I want to finish the hike I couldn’t complete that day due to the weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pure magic<\/strong> fills the morning air as I get going up this side of the mountain. Cool temperatures and sublime scenery as I climb upward. I make it to the point where I ended the hike earlier, have a little snack and just take in the view around me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I stay here all morning long<\/strong>. When I finally decide to descend, I see that I can get on over to another highly recommended hike called “the floating lake” fairly quickly from where I am at. The weather looks like it will hold, although a few gray skies can be seen here and there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

The Floating Lake is actually private land that the owner allows you to walk on for a small fee. This allows them to maintain the trail so it can continue to be enjoyed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I take my time along the trail<\/strong>. I can feel that there is something extraordinary here, and each step is bringing me closer. When I climb the final outcrop, I turn around and see the floating lake….<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The whole scene is quite unforgettable<\/strong>. Not just the floating lake, but the ocean, the crags, the other islands in the distance, it all overwhelms me. I sit down and just let the tears fall. It is the pinnacle moment of travel for me, and all of the countless days of beauty are released through uncontrollable weeping. I’ve no idea how I’m so lucky to have this experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I stay for so long that I only have a sheep<\/strong> as my companion on the walk back to the car. I have one last quiet night in my apartment, sitting in silence marveling at my experiences today. Tomorrow I move on from my little seaside village to the capital of the Faroe Islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
