On my fifth day<\/strong> exploring the Faroe Islands, I head to the 3rd highest mountain in the area, attempting a summit climb. Was I successful, did I enjoy epic views, or did the Gods rain down hard on me, and cover the landscape in clouds?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My morning started out <\/strong>promising weather wise, but as I\u2019ve quickly learned here, things change rapidly. I head through undersea and mountain tunnels to the northern most island, only to find thick fog covering the landscape when I get to the trailhead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wait it out a bit<\/strong>, but the Gods don\u2019t seem to be relinquishing their cover. I tackle the trail anyway. A 2 and 1\/2 mile straight up the mountain journey, with a rock scramble for the last 1\/2 mile. Intense doesn\u2019t come close to describing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the scenic views<\/strong> I was hoping for didn\u2019t happen, something else did, and that outshined everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
