In trying to find a place to stay<\/strong> while exploring the Texas canyon area, I settled on the Triangle T Ranch. The website was sketchy, and one review claimed the owners were racist, but the lack of options in this remote area had me taking a chance here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When CBug<\/strong> and I arrived it was a little rocky, as the place had accidentally canceled our reservation, but after some time and patience, we got it all worked out and checked in. I do also think they charged me twice, but I was tired from the drive and was just glad we had a place to sleep so I didn’t mention anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My goal<\/strong> was getting some nice night time sky time lapses out here, away from the light pollution. In that regard, this place succeeded 1,000%. The owner was also the chef, and we had two nights of home cooked dinners that were fabulous, and breakfast wasn’t too bad either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entire ranch<\/strong> was surrounded by the boulders of Dragoon, which led to some fun climbs and explorations. It reminded me of the boulders of Idaho that I used to go to as a child. This place was also home to many western movie sets from back in the day, the original movie 3:10 to Yuma being one of the most well known. Being a movie buff, I was in heaven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had a good time here<\/strong>, even with the place being pretty empty and desolate. The sunsets were magic, the horses serene and calming, and the area was full of history and wonder that I enjoyed exploring in peace and quiet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
