A few years ago<\/strong> I first passed the East Zion Resort and thought it would be a fun place to have a base camp while exploring new areas of Southern Utah. The small town of Orderville really has nothing else. Last year on my trek to see family for Thanksgiving, I booked a tiny mirror cabin here. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perfectly juxtaposed between Kanab<\/strong>, Zion’s and Bryce Canyon, I settle into my small one room cabin with the mirror exterior I dreamed of. I was able to capture some epic night timelapses, both of the sky itself and the reflection of the stars on the outside mirrors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a storm rolled through on my 3rd day<\/strong>, I found the inside to be a comfortable place to read, watch movies, and listen to the rain as it fell against the mirrored exterior. I also pretty much had the entire resort to myself. I cooked when hungry, caught up on much needed sleep, and just enjoyed the wild nature that is Southern Utah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I bet the early Mormon settlers<\/strong> of this place would be turning in their graves over what Orderville has now become with this new resort. Sweet justice for what they did to the Native Indians whose land they took over as they slaughtered the original inhabitants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
