The twinkling of snow<\/strong> on a bare branch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A bird rests, then flutters away, and a smattering of snow falls to the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I listen intently to the silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fire in my lungs<\/strong>, spasms up and down the legs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out here is where I need to lay down, rest, forever. I keep on walking until my final collapse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which a part of me wanted it to have been, should have been, today. No more glorious a viewpoint before stepping into my grave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet death did not come on this day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
