The unassuming building in Livingston that housed the Livingston<a href=\"http:\/\/museumszambia.org\/Livingstone_Museum.html\">&nbsp;Zambia History Museum<\/a> showcased a perfect narrative of their land and people, from early man to the modern day.<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a style=\"clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mywalkabout.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/3f4ad-dsc00548.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mywalkabout.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/3f4ad-dsc00548.jpg?resize=640%2C426&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" border=\"0\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<p><i>&#8220;Sympathy is no substitute for action.&#8221;<\/i> -David Livingstone.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The story of David Livingstone&#8217;s travels throughout Africa, from searching for the source of the Nile river to his missionary work, relationship with the people of Africa, and his crusades as a believer in anti-slavery were inspiring. The museum has hundreds of hand written letters preserved in glass that you can pull and read the explorer&#8217;s thoughts.<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a style=\"clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mywalkabout.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/111f4-dsc00549.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mywalkabout.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/111f4-dsc00549.jpg?resize=640%2C426&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" border=\"0\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>The British invasion and attempted colonialism of Africa is a story of morbid fascination. The museum details out a timeline of this, from the initial invasion to Zambia&#8217;s eventual freedom from Britain.<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a style=\"clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mywalkabout.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/6c645-dsc00550.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mywalkabout.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/6c645-dsc00550.jpg?resize=640%2C466&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"640\" height=\"466\" border=\"0\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>I marvel at the tenaciousness of early explorers, and dream of how I might have handled a life such as this. Could there still be places to explore, wonders to discover?
