It was mid morning when I strolled down the quiet empty side street. Christmas music was floating in the air, and as I make it onto Coupeville’s historic Main Street, a lone flutist is playing to no one.<\/h5>\n\n
My smile widens, and I wander up and down the different store fronts, and marvel at the creative and unique styling of this little town.<\/h5>\n
<\/a><\/h5>\n
The empty pier is a perfect place to sit and listen to the soft lapping waves of the Puget Sound. A sailboat in the harbor, a couple enjoying morning coffees, birds inquisitively pecking for food on the shore.<\/h5>\n
<\/a><\/h5>\n
The town’s restaurant opens for lunch, and I get a table overlooking the water, giant windows lend to great views while enjoying a local IPA and some fresh locally caught fish.<\/h5>\n

\u00a0I’m connecting to my Island of birth with a closeness one never would have expected.<\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
