{"id":3965,"date":"2011-07-17T01:23:00","date_gmt":"2011-07-17T01:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mywalkabout.net\/2011\/07\/17\/michael-franti-spearhead"},"modified":"2017-10-04T18:11:40","modified_gmt":"2017-10-05T00:11:40","slug":"michael-franti-spearhead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mywalkabout.net\/?p=3965","title":{"rendered":"Michael Franti &amp; Spearhead"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Techno house pumping sounds, reggae inspired beats, occasional raps and plain old fashioned rock and roll cumlinated into the <a href=\"http:\/\/michaelfranti.com\/\">Michael Franti and Spearhead<\/a> show at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.redbuttegarden.org\/\">Red Butte Gardens<\/a> in Salt Lake City on July 14th, 2011.<\/p>\n<p>and I met a girl.<br \/>\n<a style=\"clear: left; display: inline !important; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mywalkabout.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/7bc08-photo1.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mywalkabout.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/7bc08-photo1.jpg?resize=640%2C462&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"640\" height=\"462\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nI had secured my own little spot on the lawn, set up the blankets, food and drinks, and was just relaxing when I hear a sweet voice introduce herself.<\/p>\n<p>Small talk ensues as I cringe at the thought of inane conversation. I tell her half truths about myself, keeping my guard up in case crazy shows up.<\/p>\n<p>But all we do is laugh and dance.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t need anything more than that tonight.<\/p>\n<p>Franti ends the show having everyone in the audience under 10 and over 60 up on stage to sing the encore. The stage is filled with young and old alike.
