Compelled, he starts to pick them up, one by one, and gently tosses them back into the ocean.<\/i><br \/>\n<i><\/i><br \/>\n<i>A stranger notices what he is doing, and asks him why he is even trying, as there will be no way he can save them all.<\/i><br \/>\n<i><\/i><br \/>\n<i>The man replies, &#8221; but at least I saved this one.&#8221;<\/i><\/p>\n<p>(from <a href=\"http:\/\/makeaworldofdifference.blogspot.com\/\">World of Difference<\/a> team members Dori and j.D.)<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: left;\"><a style=\"clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mywalkabout.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/ae156-img_0638.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mywalkabout.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/ae156-img_0638.jpg?resize=640%2C428&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"640\" height=\"428\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Kenya.<br \/>\nFull of hope in the eyes of it&#8217;s children.<br \/>\nThe team moves 50,000 pounds of stone.<br \/>\nEyes that are full of wonder and curiosity.<br \/>\nThe team moves 240,000 pounds of sand.<br \/>\nIn the slums outside of Nairobi, the world changes.<br \/>\nThe team moves 104,000 pounds of gravel.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s a place I see where people survive by working together, helping each other.<br \/>\nWe mix 104,000 pounds of cement, haul by hand 1,500 gallons of water from the river.<br \/>\nFor children&#8217;s desks, we nailed 178 lbs of nails into 2,948 feet of wood that we cut and sanded by hand.<br \/>\nI make realizations that were hard to grasp previously, the orphaned, abandoned, the hungry, desperate souls.
