{"id":4529,"date":"2010-01-24T06:59:00","date_gmt":"2010-01-24T06:59:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mywalkabout.net\/2010\/01\/24\/the-spanish-steps"},"modified":"2017-10-07T06:49:09","modified_gmt":"2017-10-07T12:49:09","slug":"the-spanish-steps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mywalkabout.net\/?p=4529","title":{"rendered":"The Spanish Steps"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<div style=\"font-family: inherit; border: medium none -moz-use-text-color;\">After non stop turbulent weather to Minneapolis, a six hour lay over, crossing the Atlantic in eight hours, hanging in Amsterdam for a few with some lovely chaps, and finally boarding a plane for my final two hours, i arrived in Rome.<\/div>\n<div style=\"font-family: inherit;\">After taking a nap and shower to refresh mind and body, I ventured out into this wondrous new land. My home for the next little bit is only a stones throw away from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spanishsteps.it\/\">Spanish Steps<\/a> , which truly is a piece of architecture to behold.<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; font-family: inherit; text-align: center; border: medium none -moz-use-text-color;\"><a style=\"clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mywalkabout.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/0e805-img_0256.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mywalkabout.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/0e805-img_0256.jpg?resize=640%2C428&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"640\" height=\"428\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div style=\"font-family: inherit;\">I then wandered thru the streets, enjoying the people, nightlife, and stunning scenery encapsulating me&#8230;..<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman;\"><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">after a few hours, i found myself back to where I had began, but felt compelled to enter ( again) the Trinita Del Monti church at the top of these steps. I was privy to the beginnings of a service, which awed both visually and in my soul<\/span><br style=\"font-family: inherit;\" \/><br \/>\nThis great singing and chanting went on for about 20 minutes, of which I sat in a pew for the entire observance.
