The Makah Indians<\/a><\/strong> called this place “the beginning of the world”. I couldn’t disagree.
\"\"\u00a0If you travel<\/strong> to the Pacific ocean’s edge in Washington State, past all resemblance of towns and communities that you know, beyond fisherman’s boats, golf courses and liquor stores you find the great carving statues of ancient Makah Indians that look over this land, their land.<\/p>\n

Land that is a sovereign nation from the United States. Land that belongs to the original inhabitants of our country.<\/p>\n

Land that they hold dear and sacred since being slaughtered and almost made extinct by the ignorance and greed of white settlers.<\/p>\n

I respect this special place that they have allowed me enter.<\/p>\n\n\n
