It’s a blue bird Sunday morning<\/strong> in Oregon, majestic Mount Hood is watching over all that make their way into the forest. I weave my way along the dirt roads looking for the trailhead that will eventually take me to Ramona Falls<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The water runoff <\/strong>from the mighty mountain has transformed the landscape around me, washing out the bridge to the trail completely. Only scattered logs remain as the sole source of crossing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many are disheartened and do not attempt to cross, but that is not in the cards for me, at least not today. A strong will and a bit of free-spirited craziness help me navigate the treachery. I spend a fair amount of time trying to re-connect to the trail on the other side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the thicket of trees <\/strong>I see the mighty Ramona Falls, though I hear the cascading water first. Once in full view, I weep from the awe inspiring beauty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 7.1 mile loop<\/strong> that has its fair share of danger and an abundance of adventure, you should try the Ramona Falls hike, if you dare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
