I wanted to believe<\/strong> the hype.<\/p>\n\n\n\n[wpinsertinpostad id=”wtfuj5c66ad7445751″]\n\n\n\n

I settle into my front row seat at the Orpheum Theater<\/a> in downtown Phoenix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lights go down<\/strong>, the curtain goes up. The Simon & Garfunkel Story<\/a> begins….<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wouldn’t say I was disappointed exactly. It just wasn’t what I was hoping for. I was looking for a true theater – style play about the lives of these two incredible singer-songwriters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What I got was more of a monologue told by two actors looking like Art and Paul. They sang well enough, and there was some interesting tidbits they told, but I wouldn’t really call it “acting<\/em>“.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the upside though<\/strong>, I do love their music, and since I can’t see the originals play together, this was a close second.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As far as waxing nostalgic though<\/strong>, the show hit the spot, and I’ll take that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
