Back in October 2015, I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Washington D.C. to see Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers<\/a>. It was during this show that I learned about Steve and his love of bluegrass music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also learned that he and Edie Brickell wrote a new musical called Bright Star<\/a>. I searched for a ticket to this show over the years, but nothing ever aligned for me to be able to see this musical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That was until last night, as our local Gilbert, Arizona theater production company brought Bright Star to our little town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am not sure if all Hale Theaters are “in the round”, meaning the stage is surrounded on all sides by seats, but seeing the show in this medium brought a whole new experience to myself as a viewer. The show was powerful, funny, suspenseful and ultimately heartwarming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
