Your thoughts can easily be swallowed up in the vastness.[](https://i0.wp.com/mywalkabout.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/1776f-dsc02300.jpg?ssl=1) You see a small gathering of manufactured homes with a row of new Ford and Chevy trucks, rusty playground equipment teeters in the winter’s breeze. Abandoned roadside stands hold artwork of the Native American.   I stand beside it for awhile and think about loss.[](https://i0.wp.com/mywalkabout.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/c023a-img_8190.jpg?ssl=1) I come to a bridge, [Navajo Bridge](https://www.nps.gov/glca/learn/historyculture/navajobridge.htm) to be precise, and get out of the car. An old Navajo woman is selling jewelry in the rain. I greet her with a smile but don’t buy anything. I walk towards the bridge and wonder how many have taken their final plunge here.[](https://i0.wp.com/mywalkabout.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/80ba7-fullsizerender2b4.jpg?ssl=1) You feel closer to God out here under the gray skies and Red Rocks. I walk back and forth along Navajo Bridge, looking down into the Colorado river and seeing my own reflection, I look up into the sky and see nothing but simple truths.[](https://i0.wp.com/mywalkabout.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/7daeb-img_8188.jpg?ssl=1) As the song says, all that you have is your soul. Save my soul, save myself. ### Share this: * [ Email ](https://mywalkabout.net/navajo-bridge/?subject=%5BShared%20Post%5D%20Navajo%20Bridge&body=https%3A%2F%2Fmywalkabout.net%2Fnavajo-bridge%2F&share=email) * [Post](https://x.com/share) * [Share on Tumblr](https://www.tumblr.com/share) * [ WhatsApp ](https://mywalkabout.net/navajo-bridge/?share=jetpack-whatsapp) * [ Nextdoor ](https://mywalkabout.net/navajo-bridge/?share=nextdoor) * [ Threads ](https://mywalkabout.net/navajo-bridge/?share=threads) * [[ * [Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) * [ Reddit ](https://mywalkabout.net/navajo-bridge/?share=reddit) ### Like this: Like Loading…
