A special place in the Vortex where spiritual energy is found and dark demons can be released. My plan is to do a little bit of both. ![](https://i2.wp.com/mywalkabout.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/DSC02827-1.jpg? fit=940%2C530&ssl=1) **Rock cairns are stacked everywhere** along the river, the smooth shapes glistening in the morning light. It is just myself and a lone deer out here this morning. I strip down and slip into the water, almost in traditional baptismal fashion if I believed in that sort of thing. ![](https://i0.wp.com/mywalkabout.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/DSC02838.jpg?fit =940%2C530&ssl=1) **The sunlight has my eyes** burning red, turning the landscape into a dreamy watercolor painting. My demon eyes frighten myself, and so I walk further and higher, hoping to purge the darkness I carry with me on this journey. ![](https://i1.wp.com/mywalkabout.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/DSC02830.jpg?fit =940%2C530&ssl=1) **By journeys end**, the Vortex has once again served its purpose for me. I will continue to return though, to renew and to purge. Replenish and revitalize. One should never be content with the status quo. ### Share this: * [ Email ](https://mywalkabout.net/red-rock-crossing/?subject=%5BShared%20Post%5D%20Red%20Rock%20Crossing&body=https%3A%2F%2Fmywalkabout.net%2Fred-rock-crossing%2F&share=email) * [Post](https://x.com/share) * [Share on Tumblr](https://www.tumblr.com/share) * [ WhatsApp ](https://mywalkabout.net/red-rock-crossing/?share=jetpack-whatsapp) * [ Nextdoor ](https://mywalkabout.net/red-rock-crossing/?share=nextdoor) * [ Threads ](https://mywalkabout.net/red-rock-crossing/?share=threads) * [[ * [Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) * [ Reddit ](https://mywalkabout.net/red-rock-crossing/?share=reddit) ### Like this: Like Loading…
