If you come up this weekend, you can see my first competition of the new season.”

“I wouldn’t dream of missing it crazy legs.”

Truer words haven’t been spoken. I would travel halfway around the world to see her. Cheer competition has been a part of my Brother’s family’s life for almost a decade. Sports do so many wonderful things for children, and to watch my niece grown and learn from her years of Cheer has been such a rewarding and amazing experience.

After taking 1st place again in this last weekend’s comp, and also being a sophomore High School, I asked her if she was planning of trying out as a cheerleader in high school, and giving up Cheer.

“I don’t know, but probably not….”

I was somewhat confused by this statement until her little brother told me that crazy legs volunteers to help teach the Cheer class of disabled young girls at her local gym.

She doesn’t want to leave doing something that is so rewarding for her, but of course doesn’t tell me that.

I just smile and film her in her award winning performance, my heart bursting with pride, and love.

Wench, bring my ale, what say you?
