Who would have thought that a once simple joy is now just a treasured memory. Although many state that “we will get through this“, I have a hard time seeing the light at the end of this dark tunnel.

Sports have always been a part of my life. Stadium crowds cheering on their team, the excitement of unbelievable plays and comeback victories are the drugs that run through my veins.

This pandemic has me documenting life in a new way, through the prism of quarantined glasses. It’s funny how I’ve always cherished my solitary lifestyle, yet when I have no freedom in the matter, that solitude rears its ugly head and chews slowly at my psyche.

So I remember that last time I attended a sporting event, which was in October of 2019. Our beloved University of Utah Runnin’ Utes were playing in Seattle against the pesky Huskies. We pull out a victory as my friends and I cheer and hug each other. We can smell a championship looming on the horizon.

Yet it wasn’t a championship that was coming, it was the end of the world, at least the one that many of us knew before COVID-19.
