As 2016 loomed ever closer, I remember seeing a story about a gent that was hiking the Pacific Crest trail from Mexico to Canada, and taking a daily selfie to document his year long journey.

It was quite fascinating to see the daily pictures and the changes not only in the physical appearance, but his spirit as the days went by.

I thought I would try this approach for 2016. My first day of the new year was out in the lonely west desert of Utah, near the Nevada border.
I was in the Bonneville Salt Flats watching the sunrise, my mood was dark and apprehensive with an unsure year ahead of me :

-new job
-moving to a new State
-just having been denied entry to Canada

I wasn’t in a good frame of mind, yet I took the opportunity of a New Year to be a new start for me in every way possible.
I start 2017 in the mountains of Costa Rica, arms outstretched and a spirit full of hope and accomplishment.

Here is the last 365 days, from sunrise gas masks to sunsets full of peace.

Let 2017 begin.

Wench, bring my ale, what say you?
