A new Steven Spielberg directed film on the topic of Aliens was just released, and I had high hopes for this movie. Then additional trailers were released days before the movie was to be played in theaters, which I felt gave away too much of the story. That is usually a bad sign that the film overall isn’t connecting with audiences…..
The movie begins be attempting to ask some interesting questions. If you found out aliens did exist, what would that do to your faith in God? Can the two concepts exist simultaneously, or would the world fall into chaos if religion is the glue holding the fabric of decent society is shattered by proof of being from another world?
Sadly, I found none of those intriguing questions were delved into, and the movie was just a boring slog that really had nothing to say. But perhaps you saw it and had a different perspective. If so, I’d love to know what that was….
