After so many years of going to Joshua Tree for a few days of relaxation and a reset of my mind, I had an alien encounter from the skies above.

I start with a sound bath at the Integratron, which always puts me in an extra-terrestrial frame of mind.

I pull up to my homestead after slowly going along the dusty roads outside of town, and find that my place this year is pretty much isolated in the desert, which suits me perfectly. I quickly set up time lapse cameras and settle in on the porch and let time and the earth’s rotation doing their thing….
The turntable plays Bluegrass and Simon & Garfunkel records as the afternoon slowly turns to evening.

My time lapse galaxy captures are some of my favorite piece of photography to date, but as I’m reviewing what was captured throughout the night, I see a bright ball of light slowly lift from the earth into the sky above.
Could it be a rocket or missile? Perhaps another planet moving across our horizon? Or could it be an alien spaceship known to hover over the desert skies around Joshua Tree that people for years have been claiming to have seen?

I’ll let you be the judge. For me, it was quite the other worldly experience, one that has me continually yearning to return again to see what else I might find, feel, and change my concept of the possibilities that are out there in the Universe.
