H.C’s first happy memory is fishing with his Dad and younger brother. He was three years old. As a youth, he rode many miles with his friends to a local lake to fish every Saturday. Almost forty years later, he still finds that same joy of stringing up a pole, setting a cast, and watching the line get set in the water….

Woods Canyon Lake is pristine on a weekday, yet surprising crowded for a Monday. So much for taking a couple days off during the week to try and avoid crowds.

As the old saying goes, “time spent fishing should not be deducted from one’s life.” I whole heartedly agree, but sadly it is never the case. What is saved though is the memories of friendship and love that come from spending time fishing, whether one is alone or with others.
