Gotugjogv Log House
Where one chooses to stay while traveling can make or break your trip, at least in my humble opinion. I was more than nervous about my choice to stay at the Log House for my Faroes Island trip, but it was one of the highlights of my time here.
The wood (cedar I believe) that the home is mostly built out of leaves a calming scent. The large windows looked out onto the bay, surrounded by mountains on either side. I could walk down to Gotusandur Beach, and the village was quiet and peaceful, with it being extremely easy to catch roads to take me to other destinations.
There is a sauna, cold plunge bath and hot tub that you can book with the owner, something that I highly recommend. I went alcohol free for my four nights here, and felt amazing doing so. The log house kept me calm and comfortable. I cooked my own meals, got some of the best sleeps in my life, and felt rejuvenated by at least ten years, maybe more….
Alas, all good things must come to an end. I say farewell to the owners as we exchange good bye cards and hugs, and I head into the Capital of the Faroe Islands, Tórshavn.
