The Loch Ness monster was the first mystery I read about when I was a kid. It felt unreal being on the water that holds enduring stories of fabled lore from my childhood.

The boat leaves from Fort Augustus as we take a quick one hour tour. The short time only allows the boat to make it as far as the scree mark on the mountainside, the prevailing theory being that old Nelly made this mark with her claws trying to climb out of Loch Ness……

The tour gives us a storied history of the area as we circle around the Loch. Before I now it we are pulling back into Fort Augustus.
It’s only 11 a.m. I still have my walk along the Great Glen Way to complete.
