My first E-Bike experience through the Bradshaw mountains

IMG_0871

E-bikes were included as part of the all-inclusive rate at Castle Hot Springs, so of course I had to try one. I’ve been biking since I first learned how to pedal without training wheels, but as I’ve come into my fifth decade here on earth, I find that having an assist getting up hills or powering longer distances is a much needed bonus.

A quick tutorial on the basics of how to use the E-bike was given, then I find myself along the dirt roads that wind through the Bradshaw mountains.

Hills that would normally drain my legs of all energy now become easy climbs, I just hit the button to get a little push from the e-bikes motor.

People off roading in their Jeeps, trucks and four wheelers wave as I pass through their dust. I’m able to go deep into the desert mountains and find such stillness among the mighty Saguaro’s.

Two and half hours later, I come back to the resort, having just avoided a collision with a pack of burros. In fact, I can still hear them braying as I return the bike.

Wench, bring my ale, what say you?
