A light rain starts to fall. I look at the dashboard clock to see a neon flashing sequence of numbers that equate to seven am. I have around three hours of drive time along northern California’s highway one before I reach the airport.

Time to let my mind relax to the twists and turns of the highway as I snake along the coastline.
