The sinewy seaweed drapes my form like the remnants of an afterbirth. I teeter and sway with the tide, a new-born drunk, naked and cold.
I think about swimming out into the cold ocean water and disappearing, then snap back to reality and start trekking back along the same path that brought me here.
Something though is different, in my thoughts and body. I feel renewed under the watchful eye of the great rocks and tide pools of Shi Shi.
Perhaps I have been forgiven and can start fresh. A reincarnation of dead cells in my human form.
Strength returns to my limbs, the tree warriors guide me back to safety.
I am not the person I once was……
Now to discover this new soul I have been given.
