what we are connected to
rather than what we are separate from.
-Terry Tempest Williams
Back further than I care to remember, I watched the movie “20,000 leagues under the Sea” for a scouting activity. The Giant Squid scared the piss out of me.
It also started my continuing fascination with the world that exists below the ocean’s surface.
The new “Tentacles” exhibit at the Monterey Bay Aquarium gives one the chance to view creatures previously unseen by most land based wanderers.
From tiny squid to terrifying Octopi, to a Crustacean creature that I heard is 50 million years old ( that isn’t verifiable, but even if it’s only one million years old, even 10,000 years old, it’s pretty darn incredible!), the ocean world is one that is constantly intriguing.
Matter of fact, the world below seems as curious about those that dwell above as we are about what lives below…..
In all things of Nature, there is something of the marvelous.
