I hop in my little Honda for the last time and make the long drive from Phoenix to Salt Lake City.

It’s Thanksgiving. I’m bringing sweet crazy legs her first car, just like I promised I would years ago. It’s hard to believe she is old enough to drive, as it just seems like yesterday I was watching her get ready for elementary school.

We all are getting older though, and that thought is what I kept coming back to me this year, cherishing the time we have together as you never know if it will be someone’s last….

My Uncle passed away the week before, my Dad’s only brother. We remember him over a thoughtful prayer before we feast.

I go to my sister-in-law’s house for a second feast so that I can see more friends that I love.

We see the new Thor movie before Jared’s family leaves to California for a nice vacation.

I walk my parent’s dog Rufus through my old neighborhood. It has changed significantly since my time growing up here.

I take my sweet nieces to see the movie Coco.

I quickly write down these memories to commemorate the start of another Holiday season.

The home I grew up in now houses pictures of the past Holiday’s. I slowly film what my Mom has put up so that I can savor the feeling now that I am back home.
