Captain Tripps is taking over the world, yet I will try to resist the temptation to let fear take hold of me.

It’s not easy. Each cough, sniffle or the feeling of shortness of breath has me wondering if the virus has a hold of me, and if so, where do I go from here?

I want to escape to the arms of my lover, Mother Nature, yet I feel that is selfish and unwise, so I think back to a time when it was safer to venture outside.

Riding the trails of the Sonoran Preserve in isolation as the sun rises to a new day. Trying to remember the names of the desert plants I see out here….the ocatillo, the teddy bear cholla, the mighty saguaro cacti.

The feeling of pedaling over the dusty desert as the sun fills the blue sky and the temperatures quickly rise.

I write this for a distraction to our current situation. Many times have I written fictitious stories about the end of the world, knowing that the possibility of it becoming a reality was only a matter of time.

So, like a dying person that is frantically trying to amend loose ends, I will continue to write thoughts and share stories until I no longer can…..
