Our annual Christmas family reunion this year was bittersweet, as my Uncle and my Dad’s only brother passed away a few days before Thanksgiving.
Cancer had eaten away at this wonderful man until his body just up and quit. We had a celebration of life as he didn’t want a funeral, something that I truly respect and admire.
It’s the same way I want to go, no tears or expensive funeral costs, only a celebration of good memories before dumping my ashes off a mountain cliff.
We also had an early Christmas for my nieces and nephew so they could open the presents I got them, as I won’t be around on Christmas day.
The best gift of all though was the time I got with them, my crazy family, people that I love with all my heart.
