He normally looked upon South Mountain as a place to avoid. Close to the freeways, industrialized areas, rundown and forgotten neighborhoods that have seen better days.

Upon closer inspection though, he finds an untapped Mountain park and preserve, teeming with natural desert beauty. Hiking and biking trails galore. A true oasis in the middle of a metropolis.

Climbing to the top of mountainous peaks, surveying the expansive valleys below, this place fills the man’s heart with warm contentment. When people speak of wanting to have an existential experience out in the desert to reconnect with their inner self, it would be in a place such as this. From Spiritual shamans and medicine men to poets and deep thinkers, all can find their version of God out here.

and so he walks, and wanders, prays and ponders. In the end, he too feels the enlightenment of this area.
