From the Archives : Seeing the Lumberjack World Championship competitions in 2017

I still can’t recall how I ended up learning about the World LumberJack/LumberJill championships that are held annually in a little Wisconsin town called Hayward. It was my first trip using VRBO, and with a little cabin in the woods on a lake as my base camp, I went each day to watch some of the toughest, most interesting and fun competitions that I have ever been lucky enough to witness. Mixed in with some true Americana folk music and lore, this event will always hold a special place in my heart.
