I was nineteen when I first played the album Pretty Hate Machine on my tape deck. Head like a hole was the first track, and I was mesmerized. I’d never heard anything like it, and played it for my girlfriend, co-workers, really anyone that would listen.

I few years later they came to the SLC to promote their second album, The Downward Spiral. This album, for me, solidified Nine Inch Nails place in music history. The concert was full of controversy and craziness, complete with rumors of the band not being allowed back to Utah ever again….

As the years have ticked by, NIN has grown and changed with time, experimenting with their sound. I can relate and appreciate that. When the chance to see them again after all this time came about, I found myself amidst the lost and lonely souls of Los Angeles in the Staples Center, back with the one and only…
