Country music is hard to define, so let’s not even try. Labels are for people who are not comfortable letting things just be.
Old Crow Medicine Show was downloaded to my Ipod ages ago, and from songs that get your feet tapping to soulful, sad crooning classics, these guys have more harmony and melody in their big toe than most of us dream of ever having.

The evening begins though with a threesome group from Norman, Oklahoma called Parker Millsap.

From a voice that is as smooth as gravy over Thanksgiving potatoes, and a red head/bearded fiddler, I was hooked. His lyrics are incredible……
“I’m just a carbon ball, housin’ a soul…guess I’m gettin’ pretty good at sin.”
Light raindrops fall from the mixture of colors in the evening sky as Old Crow takes the stage, cooling off the dancing enthusiasts as they kick up their heels and tap to the beat. Fiddlers put off sparks and notes scream into the heaven’s in bluegrass ecstasy. The moonshine chandliers glow as they play.

As night comes, the SLC valley fills with thunderclouds as lightning sounds off in the distance behind the stage, lending atmosphere to an amazing evening.

Wench, bring my ale, what say you?
