Memorial weekend is here, and I wonder where did Spring disappear to so quickly? The warmer temperatures in the Valley drive me northward, destination Flagstaff and the Glamper Cabin for a few days. No TV, internet or distractions.
I return to this special spot after a couple of years, this time in the summer instead of winter. I have only one goal and that is to hike a section of the Arizona Trail from the cabin up to the Snowbowl ski resort, about seven or so miles round trip.
I reach the Snowbowl and look forward to a reward of a summer ale, but alas the restaurant and bar are closed. After a quick bite, I turn around and head back down the mountain.
The rest of my time in the Glamper cabin is spent listening to the wind whistle through the aspens, watching the sun dance in the shadows of the forest.
