Friends enjoying dinner with cityscape view

Ever since the Sundance Film Festival in January, I’ve been hearing the buzz around the new Olivia Wilde movie, The Invite. I’m a big Seth Rogan fan, from his early days in stoner comedies, to more recently in his Apple TV acclaimed series, The Studio. So when I found out he, along with Edward Norton, Penelope Cruz and Olivia Wilde were all in this, I knew it was something I wanted to see in theaters once released nationwide. That day came yesterday, and let me tell you, the hype is very well earned.

This movie takes on relationships, love and marriage in a very real but refreshing way. It’s so funny and heartfelt, and says many truths about what can happen to people after being together for extended lengths of time. I found so many instances of my own life being played out on screen. I’m sure many others will be able to relate as well. If you want a mature night out at the movies that will leave you laughing and thinking as you head to go home, do not miss your chance to see The Invite on the big screen. A24 studios knocked another one out of the park!

Wench, bring my ale, what say you?
