Our main objective in going to Kenya as BCK was to learn as much as possible about Kenya’s educational system, from Public to private to non-formal schools. We knew that in order to make a difference we needed to try and grasp the hardships the teachers, schools, and students encounter daily.

The four of us started by visiting all kinds of the different schools. It was an eye-opening experience to have a chance to sit down with the teachers and hear the stories of their struggles, but told with hope and optimism for the future.
You came away from these visits empowered to help.

We came away with ideas for future projects, having new contacts and friends, and inspired to make a change in the lives of the people here, and in ourselves.
