The last weekend of July finds me on a plane back to Utah for a quick family reunion at my Brother’s cabin in Fruitland. I look forward to making more memories in this special place with those that I love.

Sadly, my parents were stressed out about the housing market as they were trying to sell our childhood home in favor of something smaller and closer to my brother’s house. With the market tanking just as they listed it for sale, they weren’t in the right frame of mind and so they left Fruitland after only one night.

The rest of us fished, water skied and wake boarded. I paddleboarded. We played cornhole all day, made smore’s around the fire at night.

Sadly, it was the last time I was able to cuddle with Titan, as he passed away a few weeks later. It’s so hard to lose a pet, and sadly, this will be the last dog my brother and his wife will get, as the pain of losing pets is too much to bear for them.

I get the sweetest hugs from my nieces that barely remember me, as I moved before they were born. They tell me how much they miss me and it breaks my heart.

My nephew proudly shows me a video of him pole vaulting. I watch him wake board and see so much talent in him, just like his Dad.

Wench, bring my ale, what say you?
